Today, I Stopped Wishing and Started Acting
I am tired of sitting in the same room.
It has been almost a decade.
I spent about a year and a half in college somewhere in between, so technically it may have been seven or eight years. But emotionally, it feels like almost a decade.
The same room.
The same laptop.
Work. Go to the drawing room to eat. Come back. Work again. Let the night arrive. Sleep. Wake up and repeat.
I am not saying my life is bad.
My parents are with me. I have a home. I have a laptop to work on. I am building something I genuinely believe in.
But for a long time, there has been a voice inside me saying that I need to leave now.
Leave Agra.
Move somewhere where the people around me are also building something. Somewhere conversations are not limited to ordinary daily life. Somewhere people talk about companies, ideas, technology, and the future.
I want to know what I would feel like if I were surrounded all day by ambitious and hungry people.
I want to see new cities.
I want to meet new people.
I want to see the world with my own eyes, not only through YouTube and a laptop screen.
I was thinking about this yesterday too.
I kept thinking that I need to make CroozLink work, reach enough customers, and then leave Agra.
As if one hundred CroozLink customers are a gate.
And on the other side of that gate, my real life is waiting for me.
Today was Sunday.
I usually relax a little on Sunday evenings. I try to pull my mind away from work and watch something.
I opened YouTube and saw a Monkey Magic video about a train journey across the United States.
I clicked on it.
The video was around forty minutes long.
But I had no idea when those forty minutes disappeared.
For a while, I was not sitting in my room.
I was on that train.
I was watching the views change outside the window. Different cities, different landscapes, and an entirely different world.
That feeling is difficult to explain.
It was as if my current reality had paused for a while, and I was able to feel the life I have wanted to experience for so long.
While watching the video, I did not only think, "I wish I were there too."
I thought, this person is actually living his dream life.
He is travelling.
He is seeing the world.
He is recording his experiences and sharing them with everyone.
And the most interesting part is that he did not need anyone's permission.
The internet has given us an unbelievable amount of power.
Today, anyone can broadcast themselves.
Their story.
Their art.
Their journey.
Their ideas.
Their product.
Their life.
They do not need permission from a television channel.
They do not need to stand outside a publisher's office.
They do not need to wait for some powerful person to say yes.
They can pick up a camera.
Record.
Publish.
And someone sitting somewhere else in the world can see their work.
Just like I was sitting in my room today, watching his train journey.
But then I realised something else.
The internet gave this power to everyone.
But it only changed the lives of the people who used that power consistently.
Monkey Magic probably did not build this life in a day.
He must have picked up a camera.
Made videos.
At first, perhaps very few people watched.
Some videos probably failed.
Some plans probably fell apart.
There may have been moments when he also wondered whether any of it would work.
But he kept working.
And today, his work is showing him the world.
After the video ended, I sat silently for a while.
I understood something very simple, but perhaps I felt it properly for the first time.
Only my work can change my life.
I can imagine myself living outside Agra as much as I want.
I can imagine travelling through San Francisco, New York, or crossing America on a train.
I can imagine a life where my parents never have to worry about money.
I can imagine CroozLink becoming a successful company.
Imagining it can make me feel good for a while.
But it will not change my reality.
Reality will change when I work.
When I send the email I have been delaying.
When I reach out to customers.
When I make CroozLink better.
When I publish.
When I put my story in front of the world.
When I repeatedly do the work that moves me from my current life toward the life I want.
I have spent a long time wishing for my life to change.
But today, I felt that I have wished enough.
Now I need to act.
I do not know exactly how long it will take CroozLink to reach one hundred customers.
I do not know when I will leave Agra.
I do not know when I will travel internationally for the first time.
I do not know when I will sit beside a train window and watch an entirely new world pass by.
But I know that day will not arrive simply because I want it badly.
It will arrive because the work I do today will carry me there.
Maybe work is not only a way to earn money.
Maybe work is the vehicle through which a person leaves their old life behind.
Watching Monkey Magic today did not make me jealous.
It did not only give me temporary hope either.
It made me feel responsible.
His life reminded me that all of this is possible.
But making my own life possible is not his responsibility.
It is mine.
I also have the internet.
I also have a story.
I also have something to build.
And every day, I also have a choice.
I can watch someone else live their dream life and continue wishing.
Or I can open my laptop and start working on mine.
Today, I decided that I will not only wish anymore.
I will act.
Slowly, if necessary.
One customer at a time.
One email at a time.
One post at a time.
One day at a time.
But I will change my life.
Jai Yug.
